How do you make the worst moment of your life into the best one? I don’t know, either. But, I’m here taking it one day at a time trying to reinvent myself

Strategies. Effort. Optimize. Tinker.

That’s my game plan to try to survive and thrive in a gig economy.

Covid-19 has changed the world we live in. People are losing jobs. Businesses are bleeding money. But if something good could come out of this global challenge and help you, what might that be?

How could we make money online, discover a side-gig or find out something new about ourselves as a result of tough times?

What does SEOTeacher mean?

It’s a play on words. It’s kind of like

  • SEO Teacher
  • SEOT teacher

What does SEOT mean?

SEOT is my acrnym for a way to break down goal setting into 4 parts: Strategies, Effort, Optimize, and Tinker.

It’s something I came up with as a process to help students set SMART goals and achieve them.

I even published a free goal setting slideshow to help teachers and parents explain what “work smarter, not harder” actually means…

(It means effort isn’t enough. You also need to explore different strategies, monitor results and optimize what you do, and tinker around with new possibilities.)

I’m not an expert in goal setting, but I try to get a little better every day.

What does SEO mean?

It’s the art and science of Search Engine Optimization.

Basically, using strategies and effort to try to get a website to rank at the top of the results page for a search engine. We call these Search Engine Results Pages – SERP.

But, it’s not always easy to get to the top of Google. It takes effort like anything else, paying attention to results, tinkering and experimenting and finding best practices.

In other words, it requires strategies, effort, optimization, and tinkering.

About the 30-day Challenge to Make Money from this website.

A friend of mine was talking about a 30-day challenge that they’re doing to get in shape.

I thought about it, and now I’m trying my own 30-day challenge.

This site went live on January 1, 2019 but I haven’t really done anything with it.

I have high hopes and ideas, but there was always something else to do.

So, now I’m doing a video series for 30 days to force me to work on this site.

The teacher in me knows that when I have to teach something to other people, I tend to learn the material better.

So, the video series are little tips that I wish someone told me when I started out.

TIP #1: Find a friend

Tip #2: Just start

Tip #3: Tinker

Tip #21: If something works, do it more. If it doesn’t stop doing it.
